LADO’s Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate Program is a 135-instructional-hour course including over 12 hours of practice teaching for each trainee. The TEFL Certificate course is designed for people interested in teaching English as a foreign language in the US or abroad. The course emphasizes practice teaching for trainees in collaboration with our sister department, which prepares foreign students here in DC to take the TOEFL® exam.
Graduates of the LADO TEFL program find positions in the following types of ESL programs:- Teach abroad
- Teach in the US
- Private tutoring
- Other positions, such as administrators, curriculum designers, materials writers, etc.
